The club has its own mailing list, a great way for members and other interested people to get in touch quickly. For example, it could be used to ask for a lift to an event (and also to offer one :-) ), to organise a relay team or to let others know last minute details of any training events that are being organised.

Following numerous requests for new club kit (often after time spent in the dark green fight!!) we have recently submitted a new order for club O-tops.
This year we will be ordering short sleeved tops. Over the summer we have researched the best kit suppliers and been working with orienteering-specific Scandinavian company 'noname', based in Finland. We have worked with the noname designers to produce a new SUFFOC O-top that incorporates the latest technology and updates our previous design, whilst staying true to our existing club colours.
The final design is for Combat tops and is shown below. These tops are close fitting and manufactured from a technical breathable polyester fabric. This has the advantage that it is tough, stretchy and wicking. The tops are short sleeved and have a short zipper at the neck and a small collar. The tops are unisex and noname have recently incorporated a small stitched slit at the sides of the waist so that they are more suitable for both men and women, which means that they are not so tight at the waist and do not ride up. This style is favoured by many clubs and worn extensively by orienteers from novice to elite level. It has been commented that the clever design and cut has a distinctly slimming effect on the fuller figure. The tops also have the advantage over the previous style that the design and club letters are laser-printed into the fabric so will stay forever and not come off in the wash.

Anyone who has completed three colour coded courses in a shorter time than the par time (or simply completed three white courses) can claim a smart cloth strip of the appropriate colour. Par times vary from one event to another, but are always indicated in the results.
To claim your award, contact Clive Wilkinson. He may ask for evidence if you include events from outside of Suffolk, e.g photocopies of results. Start checking now to see how many colours you are entitled to!
The Challenge is a flexible award scheme designed to encourage young people to venture into the outdoor world by using maps and developing their navigation skills. The club is actively encouraging young persons to take part in this, for more details see the Explorer Challenge page.
An archive list of club champions and class winners in the East Anglian League are available on the archive page.
